The Young Professionals Board of Curamericas Global has the goal of raising awareness and funds to meet the Curamericas Global mission of saving lives of the most vulnerable in forgotten places. We’re a group of young professionals who are passionate about public health, sustainability, and maternal and child health.
This year, the Young Professionals Board is fundraising towards an ambitious goal – we need to raise $20,000 to complete construction on one of our solar panels in Kenya. Can you imagine giving birth in a pitch dark room? It seems unreal, but in many places this is a reality. Thanks to a partnership with United Solar Initiative, we’re working to provide reliable electricity to Kisii County’s local birthing centers. This awesome partnership will touch the lives of more than 40,000 Kenyans. Your donation will help us get 24/7 electricity into these important health centers.
Here are some other ideas for donating:
– $28 provides comprehensive healthcare to a mom for a full year
– $35 covers outfitting a frontline worker in personal protective equipment (PPE) to stop the spread of COVID-19
– $50 provides healthy maternal services for 2 new moms
– $84 provides 30 families with health care services
– $140 provides 50 families with health support/care services – that’s a small neighborhood!
– $500 provides 165 mothers and babies with health support
– $1000 supports a community health worker for an entire year
– A gift of $2,500 supports house-to-house visitation and family support for one year in a community of 1,000 people!
Any help, even just sharing this initiative through social media, email, or chatting with your friends and family, is greatly appreciated!
